Privacy notice
What we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how to ask us to change or delete it.
In brief
- We collect what you type into our forms and how you reached us. The investor desk also lists people at funds and banks, taken from public filings and firm websites.
- We use it only to evaluate and discuss a financing with you.
- We count visits to this site and the desk in our own database, including your IP address and approximate location (city level). We do not sell it or use outside advertising or analytics trackers.
- Securities recordkeeping rules may require us to keep business communications for several years.
Who we are
Securitief is operated by Applied America. Questions about this notice: use the contact route on the plans page or reply to any email from the desk.
What we collect
| Where | What |
|---|---|
| Pre-qualification questionnaire | Name, email, phone, company, project location and description; project size and costs; revenue, EBITDA and existing debt service; jobs and wages; readiness answers; any underwriting quote you enter; how you reached us (referral code, campaign tag) and how long the form took to complete (to stop automated abuse). |
| Cost calculator | Nothing is sent: the calculation runs in your browser unless you choose to send the result with the questionnaire. |
| Newsletter | Email address and confirmation status. |
| Desk users and outside parties | Sign-in details, role, actions taken in the desk (an access log is kept for security and supervision). |
| People at funds and banks (investor desk) | Name, title, work email and work phone of people at institutional investors, taken from public filings (SEC, FDIC) and the firms’ own websites, or added by desk users after a conversation. Used only to contact institutional investors about financings. Anyone listed can ask to be removed at securitief.com/remove. |
| Visits to this site and the desk | For every page you open: the page, the time, the site that sent you, your IP address, an approximate location derived from it by our host (city, region, country, coordinates to about 1 km and time zone) and, where switched on, the name of the network the address belongs to (from IPinfo); your browser, device type, language and screen size; a random visitor number kept in your browser; whether you started, sent or finished a form; and how long you stayed. On the desk the same is recorded with your sign-in. Used to understand how the site is used, to keep it secure (for example to spot sign-ins from unexpected places) and to see which organisations read our research. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we keep only a shortened IP address and your country. Kept 90 days, then reduced to daily counts with no IP address. |
| Calls with the desk | Calls may be recorded and transcribed where call recording is switched on; you are told at the start of the call. |
Why we use it
To evaluate and discuss the financing you asked about, to reply to you, to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, and to keep the service secure. We do not use your information for automated decisions with legal effect: the questionnaire produces general information only.
Who sees it
Members of the desk who work on financings, and the service providers that host the service for us (Supabase for the database, Vercel for the website, GitHub for scheduled jobs and encrypted backups, and Google Fonts and unpkg for fonts and page scripts, which see your IP address when a page loads). Only where a desk switches them on: Twilio for calls, OpenAI or Deepgram for call transcription, Anthropic for drafted call notes, Google or Microsoft for the firm’s own mailbox, Slack or Microsoft Teams for desk alerts, an email provider for messages, an archive vendor for the communications journal, and Stripe for subscription billing, and IPinfo to name the network a visiting IP address belongs to. The current list is on the security page. We share borrower information with investors, issuers or counsel only with your agreement as part of a financing. We may disclose information where the law or a regulator requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a financing are kept for as long as needed to follow up and then deleted on request. Business communications and records connected to a financing are kept for the periods securities recordkeeping rules require, which can be six years or more; during that time they cannot be deleted, but they are not used for any other purpose.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop receiving email, at any time; we answer within 45 days. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. If you are listed on the investor desk, ask to be removed: your details are taken off within 30 days and a one-way fingerprint stops them being added back. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under state privacy laws; we honour them.
Security
See security and privacy for how access is controlled, logged and backed up.
